The Thai Wanna "Meena" Kithen was crowned Miss Hooters Phuket 2016 during a beauty pageant in the American Bar in Patong this week. There was some uncertainty about her nationality, because Thaivisa spoke of a Filipino lady, but the report in Phuket News has it's really about a Thai beauty. The numbers 2 and 3 of this election were Filipino beauties.

Miss Mena takes home 20,000 Baht and will join Neera Wongai, Miss Hooters Pattaya 2016 and Jessica Arra, Miss Hooters Bangkok 2016 in the Miss Hooters International later this year. These 20th edition of Miss Hooters International will be held in – no, not Silicone Valley – Las Vegas.

In that election in Las Vegas, they will compete for the $30.000 cash prize and a lucrative contract to become an International Ambassador for Hooters restaurants.

I was happy that Miss Phuket is actually Thai, because it would be great if a Filipino in Thailand took the credit. Of course I don't know all the participants from the election in Phuket, but I can tell you honestly that I have met more beautiful ladies than Miss Weena in Thailand and the Philippines.

In Thailand I see that every day and as far as the Philippines is concerned, I will check again next week. With a group of friends from Megabreak Poolhall, we are already in Angeles City for the seventh time during the Songkran Festival. If the members of the group now all choose a favorite lady there, it might be a nice idea to organize a Miss Megabreak Angeles City pageant. I will keep you informed if necessary.

Yes, yes, life can be so beautiful. Every country has its beauties, including Thailand and the Philippines. I like them and know I am not alone in that. I wish the ladies good luck in their shows and parades.
