In the English-language newspaper The Nation there is a nice piece of Holland promotion. It is about the recently opened Keukenhof, always good for beautiful pictures with colorful tulips. The 68th edition of Keukenhof was officially opened on March 21 and was all about Dutch Design and the new entrance building.

Christien Meindertsma, Dutch Design Award winner played an important role during the official opening of Keukenhof. Dutch designers are appreciated worldwide for their leading ideas in the field of fashion, graphic design, building and furniture design. They are the source of inspiration for the theme of this Keukenhof season. Dutch Design has been incorporated into the flower bulb mosaic, one of the highlights of the theme year.

In addition, the flower shows in the Oranje Nassau Pavilion are entirely devoted to Dutch Design. One of the inspirational gardens is also dedicated to the theme and the orchids and anthurium exhibition in the Beatrix Pavilion are given substance with fashion and furniture design.

Keukenhof will be open to the public from Thursday 23 March. Eight weeks later, when it closes on May 21, 2017, more than 1 million visitors from all over the world will have visited the flower exhibition.

People are busy building a little Holland here in Bangkok. It should soon show all facets of our distant homeland. Of course, including what the Keukenhof in the Netherlands offers. And much more of windmills, wooden shoes, etc.
It will be located in Thonburi in Bangkea. Not quite ready yet.
I am very honored to have already received an invitation to the opening. (date not yet known)

    Wonderfully beautiful.
I went to Keukenhof last year with my Thai wife and her daughter. They thought it was fantastic. Worth repeating.

Unfortunately for many tourists, the Keukenhof is only open for a short time. I regularly speak to Asian tourists on the plane who want to visit the Keukenhof in November, for example. I advise them to check if it is open. Anyway, they visit Amsterdam for 2 to 3 days, so I think they have plenty of other options left.

Today my Thai wife and I had a wonderful day in Keukenhof.
This special place is definitely worth a visit! Millions of colorful flowers in all kinds of formations adorn the site and it is a true delight to the eye.
The sun was there and the iPad captured hundreds of beautiful pictures uninterrupted, a few dozen of which have already been introduced to family and acquaintances in Thailand. The laudatory comments could of course not be missed…
    Worth repeating !
