Tip for Thai in the Netherlands: Keukenhof
If a Thai family or partner comes to the Netherlands in the spring, take them to Keukenhof. Success guaranteed!
A bouquet of flowers in your living room in Thailand
Earlier this week I read a story about an Australian woman who cherished a succulent plant in her living room in the hope that it would bloom one day. For three years she took care of the plant, gave it the necessary water and flower food, but when she wanted to repot it she discovered that the plant was made of plastic. What do you need an artificial flower or plant?
Keukenhof is virtually open from today. “Unfortunately, visitors are not yet allowed to come to the park themselves,” says director Bart Siemerink. “And because you are not allowed to come to Keukenhof as a visitor, we are bringing Keukenhof to you”.
Keukenhof wants to show as many people as possible the images of the blooming park. To this end, the park has entered into a unique partnership with violinist Rosanne Philippens. In a 5-minute video, Rosanne shows and hears how she embraces the sunrise in a colorful Keukenhof.
Virtual walk through Keukenhof
Keukenhof is closed for visitors but open virtually. This way, visitors can still enjoy beautiful images of the blooming park. 'If people can't come to Keukenhof, we will bring Keukenhof to the people' is the motto of the park in 2020.
Keukenhof opens virtually (video)
Spring is in full swing in Keukenhof. Unfortunately, due to the corona crisis, we are not allowed to go there. But luckily we have YouTube. If you can't come to Keukenhof, we will bring Keukenhof to you! In the coming weeks we will show you the most beautiful places in the park. In this video, director Bart Siemerink takes you to his favorite place: the flower hill.
Nice for lovers of flora and fauna. Call it a small Keukenhof, open to the public from 6 to 21 April. It was set up by the daughter of the king number 9, really beloved daughter of the Thai. The entrance is 40 baht pp and that money is donated to a charity or hospital.
The Keukenhof, nice for Thai in the Netherlands
If you want to surprise your Thai guest in the Netherlands with something nice, a visit to Keukenhof is at the top. Thai and especially the ladies love flowers and tulips in particular. So take her (or him) to Lisse. The park will be open to the public from Thursday and will close on May 19, 2019.
Holland in full bloom
In the English-language newspaper The Nation there is a nice piece of Holland promotion. It is about the recently opened Keukenhof, always good for beautiful pictures with colorful tulips. The 68th edition of Keukenhof was officially opened on March 21 and was all about Dutch Design and the new entrance building.
