'Hole-in-one' provides home for Thai golfer

Friday the thirteenth is golfer Panuphol Pittayarat's lucky day. He may not have played a significant role in the standings of the Thailand Classic, but that will be a concern for him. The 22-year-old Thai hit a hole-in-one on the fourteenth hole in Hua Hin and that earned him a house.

The house worth twelve million Thai baht (more than 300.000 euros) has yet to be built. He will like the location, namely on the edge of the ninth hole of the Black Mountain golf resort in Hua Hin, the course where the European Tour tournament is played.

Despite the hole-in-one, Panuphol is in the rear and failed to make the cut. “I still feel like I won the tournament. This is amazing. The iron-6 is now my best friend”, laughed the Thai.

  1. nico says up

Look, that's the nice thing about Thailand, in the Netherlands he would have to pay 25% gambling tax for his house and because the house still has to be built, even eff. 21% VAT and transfer costs.

In the Netherlands he will therefore have to take out a mortgage of 50% of the value of his “free” house.
BUT, when granting a mortgage, the bank does not look at your house, but at your income and permanent employment. Unfortunately, a golfer does not have a permanent position and therefore does not receive a mortgage.

3 x hooray for the Netherlands. bunch of suckers over there.
