It seems to be trending. A few weeks ago, there was already a scandal about three French tourists who took nude photos in Angkor Wat. On Friday, two American sisters were arrested in Cambodia for taking nude photos of themselves at this sacred site.

According to the Cambodian police, Lindsey Adams, 22, and her younger sister Leslie, 20, "dropped their pants and took pictures of their buttocks exposed" at the Preah Khan temple. This temple is part of Unesco World Heritage.

It is not yet clear what punishment the sisters will receive. The three French tourists who had already been arrested received a six-month suspended prison sentence. They are also not allowed to enter Cambodia for four years.

It is not to be hoped that tourists in Thailand will also behave in such an unseemly way.

There's only one word for outrageous. No respect at all and I hope people don't start doing this in Thailand. Just heard on the news that they are no longer allowed to enter Cambodia for the time being. I think they wanted to put the photo on Social Media! In Thailand they had not got off so easily.

Idk Christina, we shouldn't tolerate these kinds of scenes, then you don't belong in the country where you are a guest. Behave with respect!

Being a guest in another country has nothing to do with the fact that you have to behave with respect, after all, you always have to, even in your own country. You don't drop your pants in a museum, religious or historical building in your own country, do you? These people lack decency and/or are too eager to get an adrenaline rush (then go parachute jumping).

And all to have their 'one minute of fame'. There can be no question of any real interest in this heritage with these 'ladies'. And to think that there are so many others who have really immersed themselves in Angkor Wat, but cannot afford the trip there.

Such behavior has no place. Let alone in a temple, church. mosque etc. It would have been better if, in addition to the 6 month conditionally, one had also received a month unconditionally.

The entire Western world is full of respect for other religions, but as soon as people cross their own national borders, these kinds of moral expressions suddenly disappear like snow in the sun.
I would first let them growl in a cockroach-infested cell for a few months and then deport them persona non grata. I was only in Bangkok for a short period of time to wait for my daughter, who had just finished her international studies there, to travel back together.
We went to a number of temples and the royal palace. She packed up. Blouse with sleeves and a thin dress that reaches to her ankles. My comment “isn't that too hot for Bangkok? ” was countered with… Dad, out of respect for Buddhism… it is not tolerated for a woman to enter a temple in a short skirt and sleeveless blouses. You should also wear long pants and a shirt with sleeves. I quickly got dressed. Proud of my 22-year-old daughter, who respects other faiths, while she was not even given a faith from home.

You people they will NEVER learn. I'm pretty sure if you did that in front of the White House in Washington, you'd really go to jail. Sure. Have respect in the country where you reside, simple as that.
    Have A Nice Day

Blacklists I hope, disrespectful disaster tourists.

There are no excuses for this. Young, playful, funny or too stupid. Before leaving for these countries, the minimum is to know that these countries attach great importance to symbols, temples and their faith. If this minimum of respect cannot be accepted I would at these truly insulting incidents
impose an entry ban on these ladies for at least 10 years to the countries in this region. After first carrying out their 6 months of confinement. I feel ashamed as a tourist in their place.

Very disrespectful indeed. I would say: a few taps on those bare buttocks, back to the USA and never come back.

Just read in the paper today that more security is being pulled. Shouldn't be so money is better spent on maintenance.

What type of woman does this. I just can't understand what these people are actually doing there.
No respect or memory of the past. Customs and reverence are probably words to be laughed at.
it is very sad what you read here.
