The Thai Meteorological Department predicts that this year's summer will be less hot than last year. The maximum temperature will remain at 42 to 43 degrees, which is lower than in 2016. The meteorological summer in Thailand started on Friday and will last until mid-May.

The Thai Meteorological Department bases its forecast on a different wind direction and the temperature during the day. thus, the northeast monsoon has transitioned into a southeast monsoon.

Last year, the highest temperature in the country was measured in Mae Hong Son: 44,6 degrees. This year the North and the Northeast will be the warmest, the temperature in Bangkok will fluctuate around 40 degrees.

The North is now also dealing with smog again. The concentration of harmful dust particles has already exceeded the safety limit in several places. The smog is caused by (lit) forest fires and because farmers burn harvest residues.

Well, the past 2 weeks it was here, around Phetchaburi, already above 40 degrees, at the moment it is cloudy and 39 degrees and then we are still a few weeks away from April, as is known the hottest month of the year.
