Contrary to previous reports, all TV and radio channels will not resume their normal programming until January 22, 2017. Earlier it was said that this would take place on November 14th.

However, between November 14 and January 22, the channels are allowed to broadcast more entertainment programs. This was announced by the NBTC on Friday.

The NBTC says that the TV and radio stations must take into account the fact that many Thai people are still in mourning in their programming until January 22.

The broadcasting watchdog has also informed broadcasters what they are and are not allowed to broadcast. Violent and offensive programs, such as many soap operas, are prohibited. Programs unsuitable for minors may only be broadcast after January 22. Furthermore, all TV channels must regularly interrupt their programs for news about the mourning period and funeral.
