It is no longer a surprise that the corona crisis is making victims in aviation. Singapore Airlines owner of the Thai company NokScoot has decided to pull the plug on the company.

NokScoot was founded in 2013 as a budget airline and is a joint venture between Singapore Airlines subsidiary Scoot (49%) and the Thai Nok Air (51%). Until the corona crisis, budget flights were operated between Thailand, China, India, Japan and Taiwan with Boeing 777-200s, aircraft from Singapore Airlines. The low-cost carrier was based at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok.

Singapore Airlines says that the closure of NokScoot will cost the parent company about 80 million euros.

Curious how that will be solved with a combination ticket. We would fly partly with scoot and partly with SA

Nokscoot was part of Nok Air and Singapore Airlines.

Nok Air and Singapore Airlines still exist

    Well,
I had read that Singapore had first offered the 49% shares to NOK. but it refused.
Then Singapore would have been better off auctioning its shares, for example via Troostwijk.
In Europe they have no idea who Nokscoot is.
I have not been able to find out who owns the 7 Boeing 777-200, in any case not from a leasing company.

Peter in the introduction says that nokscoot is nok air

      No it doesn't say that.

It is a venture between Singapore Airlines and Nok Air.

Singapore Airlines and Nok Air are not bankrupt.

      They have lifted Nokscoot.

Nok Scoot only operated international flights from Don Mueang to 4 countries. As stated in the article, Nok Scoot is a collaboration between Nok Air and Singapore Airlines. Nok Air is a company that serves 21 destinations in Thailand as well as some international ones. The company Nok Air is 67% owned by the Jurangkool family, who are in the automotive materials business, and their son is the director of NokAir. In addition, 16% of Nok Air shares are owned by Thai Airways.
