According to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), Thailand is fully open again to foreign visitors after the pandemic, leading to a significant increase in arrivals. 

As a result, from January 1 to July 31, 2022, Thailand welcomed 3.150.303 visitors, generating 1,57 billion baht in revenue.

The five countries with the most visitors are:

  1. Malaysia, 425.289 tourists;
  2. India, 333.973 tourists;
  3. Singapore, 183.716 tourists;
  4. United Kingdom, 161.780 tourists;
  5. United States of America, 146.891 tourists.

    Great for the Thai treasury, good for the hospitality industry and everyone who is directly or indirectly involved with tourism.
    I personally think it's a shame… we had Thailand pretty much to ourselves for a while. Wonderfully quiet everywhere without walking milk bottles that looked like walking lobsters a day later, because they were in the sun too long ...
    Yes, it's really busier again, you notice it. In the afternoon to Hua Hin by car is slowly becoming a matter of patience again…
    The pandemic was terrible, but the peace for people and nature (!!!!) I will look back on that longer than the mandatory face mask or the vaccinations...
