Prince Friso passed away

Prince Friso passed away on Monday morning at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague. The Government Information Service reports this on Monday. He turned 44 years old.

The prince died of complications caused by the brain damage he sustained in the skiing accident on February 17, 2012, according to the RVD. Since then, the prince has been in a coma.

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their three daughters have arrived in the Netherlands. The Government Information Service (RVD) announced this on Monday evening. The family has cut short the holiday in Greece because of the death of Prince Friso.

Princess Beatrix was at Huis ten Bosch Palace on Monday. Eyewitnesses report that King Willem-Alexander has also arrived there. Whether he is accompanied by the queen and the princesses is not clear.

Prince Constantijn and Princess Mabel were also seen with her daughters in the garden of Huis ten Bosch earlier in the day.

    The worst thing that can happen to you, in my opinion anyway, is that as a parent you outlive your child. Wish all relatives a lot of strength.
