The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) will make a decision on Friday about any further relaxation of the Covid entry conditions. A shorter quarantine period for unvaccinated foreign tourists and changes to testing policy are on the table.

The tourism ministry has previously proposed a relaxation of Covid-19 testing measures for tourists entering the country, asking for testing to be completely abolished and just showing proof of vaccination. Several options are being considered, a spokesman said.

The quarantine period for unvaccinated visitors is likely to be shortened. The Test & Go access scheme for fully vaccinated tourists and Thai returnees can also be adjusted now that other countries have eased entry restrictions. Foreign visitors entering Thailand by air may only need to undergo an antigen test (rapid test) on arrival instead of a PCR test. Tourists then have to wait 15-30 minutes at the airport for the result and are then no longer obliged to book a hotel. After a negative test, they are allowed to travel throughout Thailand.

Incidentally, it is unlikely that the Test & Go and Thailand Pass system will be terminated as of May 1, as previously suggested. This is still scheduled for July 1, 2022.

    Decided today:

As of May 1, all tests for people who are fully vaccinated will expire; you don't have to spend a day in a hotel anymore

you still have to apply for a Thailand pass

Test &go is dead, no more testing on arrival, insurance requirement reduced to $10000.
No more mandatory hotel booking for waiting for test. This does not seem to have been changed in Thai pass yet, but it will happen.
Thai pass remains and is for proof of vaccination and insurance.
This applies if you are vaccinated.
Rules are different again if you are not vaccinated.

What happens if you have already paid a confirmed shaplus and pcr test 2200 bath with departure to Thailand on May 20

If you have already booked a hotel, it is best to cancel, I think. Or call the hotel to see if you can get a refund. I was just trying to book a sha+ hotel yesterday, but I hadn't decided yet. Luckily ne4 not booked. I already had too expensive insurance of 20.000 for myself and my 17-year-old daughter. Since I had already finished the rest of the documentary, I can now apply for the Thaipass. I understand that this will be possible from April 29 with the new arrangement without a sha hotel. But then I hope that the Thai Pass is ready before the May 9 departure date.
