The 38th Bangkok International Motor Show 2017 attracted 1,65 million visitors this year, about the same as last year. A total of 31.000 vehicles were ordered, slightly less than last year (32.571)

The car sales in Thailand are going well again. Sales rose 10,5 percent year-on-year in January and 19,9 percent in February. Lower figures are expected for April, but after that the market will pick up again. 2012 in particular was a top year because of the subsidy scheme of the Yingluck government, after which sales declined.

The top selling car brands at the show were Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Isuzu and Ford and in the luxury segment these were Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volvo and Lexus. Yamaha led the way in motorcycles, followed by Kawasaki, Honda, Motoplex and BMW.
