Nok Air director Patee denies the rumor that the recent flight cancellations are due to the departure of pilots.

The CEO says that flights will also be canceled this month. The cause of this is a new flight schedule for pilots. Nok Air has adjusted the flight times of the pilots to the rules of the CAAT. According to Patee, this has nothing to do with an alleged shortage of pilots. Nok Air now employs 192 pilots and from 1 March another 30 new pilots will be added.

An investigation into the wild pilot strike of February 14 is still ongoing. As a result, Nok Air has fired a total of three pilots. Two others are suspended. Investigations are ongoing against a number of others. Due to the strike, 17 flights were canceled that day and about 3.000 passengers were left out in the cold.

The Thai aviation authority CAAT is investigating the working hours of pilots at NOK Air. There is a reasonable suspicion that the required rest periods have not been observed. If that is the case, pilots and society must be legally accountable, says transport minister Arkhom.

We have no shortage of pilots and that's why we're adding 30 in March?

Pilots will not just leave on their own because it is also difficult for them to find work elsewhere.

I understand that it is difficult for young pilots with little or no flying hours to get a job, but pilots with sufficient flying hours and especially captains with sufficient hours are highly sought after. Especially with all those orders for new devices that many companies in Asia and the surrounding area have outstanding. I sometimes fly short flights in Asia and regularly have foreign pilots on the buck. I especially notice from Australia and Europe. All flight time makers so that they can apply for a good contract after a few years.

During NOK's final selection round, they were only looking for Thai as a co-pilot.
