Thailand will have an interim government within three months. Investors and tourists will always be welcome, but some major investment projects will be delayed because the junta wants to review them. Ongoing projects, however, are being continued.

With that message, junta leader General Prayuth Chan-ocha yesterday tried to reassure a delegation of Chinese businessmen and bankers. "Thailand remains committed as always to its strategic partnership with China – at all levels."

Prayuth stressed that the junta's emphasis is on fighting corruption and conflicts of interest. He said potential investors are not being asked for benefits and asked the Chinese for their support in tackling corruption. "Contact me directly when government departments or individuals request payment under the table so I can take action."

Prayuth also asked Chinese investors to consider environmental impacts and to use alternative energy when building industrial facilities.

The Chinese, in turn, confirmed their cooperation with Thailand in business, investment and trade cooperation.

Clearly to notice that you are back dear Dick. Watched much of the army command's speech on TV yesterday and I can't deny that the general has good intentions. Hopes he succeeds in his aim. There was not a word of Koeterwaals.

Of course the general comes forward well, the military determine what is brought out through the media. We are just being stupid.

      Greetings,

      Jan

Why assume the bad. The farmers get their money give that general a chance.
We see it well and should have happened much sooner. I raise 10 fingers to my beloved Thailand.

        Dear Jan,

I have never caught Ms. Yingluck saying anything about corruption. Whether the word of the generals works is of course the question, but there is a start. Have patience.

Fortunately, after all his serious sentences, he could also joke about those three fingers.
It would have been even nicer if he had put 5 fingers in the air at the end of his speech on TV this morning after the wai.
But yes, he may have been busy. Just wrote the lyrics to a new hit, which gets its scoop this week.
