The autopsy of Elise Dallemange (30), who died on Koh Tao, shows that she died of suffocation. No traces of violence were found on her body. According to Bangkok Post, her family has no doubts about the cause of death, because she has already tried to take her own life. Police spokesperson Krisana stated this yesterday.

Police Chief Suthin said yesterday that Elise (pictured above) attempted to kill herself on April 4 at Nopppawong station, near Hua Lamphong in Bangkok. She had jumped onto the rails but was rescued by railway employees and bystanders. She also tried to steal his gun from a police officer who had rushed up to him and shouted 'Kill me!' several times. She was then taken to the Somdet Chaopraya Institute of Psychiatry in Bangkok for treatment.

The police are still investigating to rule out all other scenarios. The connection between Elise and the Sathya Sai Baba New Age spiritual cult, an Indian sect, is still under investigation. The Belgian woman has met the German leader Raaman Andreas of the ashram on Koh Phangan several times. The sect is known for miraculous healings and special beliefs. Elise would have been a member of this cult.

  1. Kees says up

Now I read that autistic Martijn from Uden has also come this way. All the misery that happens to foreigners in Thailand, murders, suicides, balcony jumpers, etc., could that not also be partly due to the fact that this country exerts an irresistible attraction on large numbers of less stable people? A country where nothing is as it seems…hardly a healthy environment for those with mental problems I think.

  2. BETTER SLEEP says up

Thailand is an open and free society, where everyone is welcome. At the same time, it is also a harsh environment where dreams can become disappointments. Kees' statement may be in line with this.
