Yesterday it was continuously on Thai TV: The cremation of the immensely popular actor Tridsadee 'Por' Sahawong (37). Por died from the consequences of a dengue infection he contracted two months ago.

The ceremony held at the Wat Klang in Muang (Buri Ram) and started in the afternoon when the fire was brought to the temple. This fire was made available by the king. Half an hour later, the governor brought monk's habits and paper flowers received from Princess Soamsawali.

Por played roles in about thirty different Thai soap operas. He was known as someone who was good to the poor, so he helped the farmers in the area.

In 2008, Por received an award from the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand for the gratitude he showed to his parents. Por was also an ambassador for the World Society for the Protection of Animals and contributed to numerous charitable initiatives.

Dengue outbreak

Currently, many cases of Dengue infections are being reported again. The number of cases has quadrupled in the past week. The province of Bangkok is particularly affected. The Ministry of Health expects dengue infections to increase by 16% this year. Especially young people between the ages of 15 and 24 become ill from an infected person Aedes mosquito bite.

Dengue is currently the world's fastest growing tropical disease. Each year, 50 million people are affected by the mosquito-borne disease.

Symptoms of Dengue Fever include high fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, nausea, vomiting, rash, and severe joint and muscle pain. The pain is sometimes so severe that patients think their bones are broken.

Tourists and Thais in Bangkok, who are located in the Watthana district (from Nana to On Nut) near Sukhumvit, should be extra careful. At the end of last year, most reports of Dengue Fever came from this area.

If the doctors hadn't misdiagnosed him, he'd probably still be alive.
When they found out it was denge, it was already too late.

Chander, There is no antibiotics for blood control and supported preparations (vitamins, etc.), I contracted it myself last year in Pattaya, I was happy with it for a month, and then little resistance, I still don't feel 100% fit with every virus a /d turn.

As said: there is no cure for the disease, no vaccine, no antibiotic. Something for the big drug companies? The only thing that would help now is fighting the mosquitoes. Individually and in general. Task of the governments in Thailand, Singapur and Indonesia ? Look at Brazil, although that is about a different infection.

There is no regular medicine available against Dengue, once read on Thailand blog of someone who had Dengue and was prescribed a lot of Vitamins by a Thai doctor and I also mean something else, I don't remember what.
Epie, I'm very curious what you did against Dengue?
Perhaps Dengue can be combated with MMS, if there is nothing else to do, that might help, see the site http://www.jimhumble.is For further information.

When I was a little boy I didn't want to go to distant foreign countries for gold. I didn't like all those scary animals and their dangers.
I don't even know why that changed, but I accept those risks these days.
Sometimes I see people with small children dragging all over the world and then I think, never mind.

    Strength to the Family, (RIP)
