A 57-year-old German woman was found dead on Saturday morning after jumping from the 24th floor of a luxury apartment complex in Bangkok's Pathumwan district. The woman had recently had an argument with her husband.

Her body was found in a pool of blood near the pool on the sixth floor of a 30-storey condominium on Soi Mahadlek 2 in the Lumpini area, a police spokesman said.

Her husband Rudolf B., 70, who works as a lawyer in Bangkok, told police that he and his wife lived in the flat for 3 years. The couple are both directors of Antorum International, a company that assists international investors in commercial real estate.

Before the incident, the couple had been dining out and drinking wine. On the way home, the couple got into an argument. The woman then threatened to harm herself. The husband did not take that seriously because she had drunk too much. Once inside the condo, the woman went straight to the balcony and said she would jump. The man still thought it was an empty threat until she actually jumped.

The police are investigating the case, will request CCTV footage and hear witnesses. The woman's body has been sent for examination by a forensic institute.
