Central Pattana Plc (CPN) is launching 37 hotel projects worth 10 billion baht in 27 provinces, to be managed by Centara Hotels and Resorts, with the aim of creating 3.900 jobs in Thailand.
Wallaya Chirathivat, president and CEO of CPN, has stated that the five-year investment plan for her hotel business will be completed in 2026.
Wallaya believes the 37 hotels with a total of 4.000 rooms should be able to create at least 3.900 jobs, especially in emerging cities, as part of the company's expansion strategy.
The president of the CPN indicated that the first hotel, Centara Korat in the northeast (with 218 rooms), will open its doors in September this year.

Nice, but there must also be tourists and Thailand is certainly not very tight with the hotel capacity, which I think will only further reduce the general price for the tourist.

It is also a misconception that Centara Hotels rely on foreign tourists. In Centara, the money is not earned from renting rooms, but from catering: dinners, lunches, meetings, weddings and parties. And not with foreign tourists, but with the middle class Thais and above.
Perhaps the foreign tourists are not the target group at all, but the above average incomes in Thailand. In the smaller cities, which are planned with this investment plan, there are too few foreign tourists to run a luxury hotel. Tourists come in seasons and the above average Thai all year round.
