The bus operators want the price for a ticket in Bangkok to be increased. They are going to the Ministry of Transport for this today. They believe that the basic fare for non-air-conditioned buses should increase from 9 to 12 baht and for air-conditioned buses from 13 to 15 baht.

The Concession Bus Association says the previous increase from 8 to 9 baht for non-air-conditioned buses is not enough to cover the costs. Some bus companies can hardly get their business around.

Chairman Pattarawadee says that the parking fee in depots and the insurance for the buses have become more expensive.
