The Dutch embassy including the consular and visa department will be closed on Friday 14 May.

If you have booked an appointment with the consular or visa department on 14 May, you are requested to book a new appointment. You are advised – until further notice – not to come near the embassy and Wireless Road.

On May 13, from 18.00 pm, the security forces completely closed access to several roads around the location of the demonstrators.

Wireless Road (on which the embassy is also located), and parts of Petchaburi, Phayathai and Rama 4 roads are closed to traffic. Confrontations have now erupted between the security forces and demonstrators, with more than 20 people reportedly injured (including 1 of the leaders of the demonstrators (red shirts)).

The Dutch are advised to completely avoid the Rajprasong intersection and all mentioned roads for the time being and to keep a close eye on developments.

Editorial: The American and British embassies are also closed.
