Airports of Thailand (AoT) has announced new measures to deal with an increase in passenger arrivals at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

AoT has announced that measures have been taken to reduce baggage handling delays and waiting times for passengers as the number of complaints has increased over the past month.

To meet the growing number of passengers, the airport's ground handling operators, THAI Ground (TG) and Bangkok Flight Services (BFS), are recruiting staff and purchasing additional equipment as a temporary solution.

Authorities are also addressing taxi service shortages by registering 3.909 taxis for service in the area, with plans to increase this number to 4.500.

AoT, meanwhile, has proposed temporarily extending the period for airlines to provide self-service services, as well as installing more automatic passport checkpoints and pre-immigration kiosks. In addition, it will expand the new priority zone and VOA control area in its Satellite 1 building, which will open in September.

The international airport also has plans to convert the space between the passenger terminal and Concourse D into a reception area for arriving passengers with visa on arrival (VOAs). They expect to be able to accommodate 2.000 incoming travelers and 400 people with VOAs per hour (there is NO visa on arrival for Belgians and Dutch people. We are exempt from a visa, which is called Visa exemption).

AoT assures that the second phase of the long-term solution to airport congestion problems is now under development and construction is scheduled to begin at the end of this year.

They can also do something at the departure hall. especially the pass control.
On February 16, back to the Netherlands, everything went fine until the pass control
There was a queue….. had to wait 2 hours only 8 counters open.
I think 200 people in the hall.
Quarrels broke out here and there.
Even one of the Thai security started yelling at the people.
    Never experienced before.

I hope it goes better next time.
