A Thai masseuse from Doetinchem was cheated and robbed of her savings by a client she previously trusted. The customer, whom she knew as “Mark,” had promised her to exchange money for her planned trip to Thailand, but disappeared with the money.

The incident was discussed on the Crime Scene programme, where footage was shown of the man, known as 'Mark', driving a white Fiat 500. It is claimed he owns a roofing company.

The masseuse had saved up cash for her trip and had asked Mark to exchange it for her into 100 euro notes. Mark agreed to help, but surveillance footage shows him disappearing with the money, causing the masseuse to lose her savings.

The police have not announced exactly how much money the woman has lost, but according to spokeswoman Esmée Pellen it is a significant amount. The masseuse is left with the regret of her misplaced trust in an apparently well-known client.

Let's hope so! Very sad that the lady cannot go home for Christmas and surprise her family.

A bit stupid, that lady. Very bad, that guy. Really, they do get them, people who can fit into a white Fiat 500, there aren't that many... But then?

It's easy to judge, but if that guy has been with her customer for a long time, you often trust such a misfit.
Just be careful if he gets caught he won't have any money left.

When it comes to money, you can't trust ANYONE. One learns by doing.
In Thailand, look out for the 7/11 trick. You pay with bigger money and get less back in change.
Happened to me once, but I knew about the trick so I paid attention and made a little fuss, so I got the right amount back. Read about another such case last week.
