Prime Minister Yingluck steps out of brother Thaksin's shadow and sister Yaowapa concludes Bangkok Post .

The changed composition of the cabinet, which has yet to be officially announced, indicates that Yingluck has strengthened her grip on power, she writes in an almost full-page analysis on the front page.

Yingluck would also take up the post of defense minister, proving that the relationship between the prime minister and the military is a tight one.

It is the fifth time that the cabinet has been changed. Previous changes would have been entirely directed by Thaksin, sister Yaowapa and Thaksin's ex-wife Potjaman. That's different now. Yaowapa's influence has been reduced because her quota, as the newspaper calls it, goes from five to three seats.

That Yingluck distances itself from big brother Thaksin, the newspaper concludes from maintaining the Minister of Finance. Thaksin is said to be dissatisfied with his economic policy. Nevertheless, he keeps a finger in the pie, because Thaksin has managed to get various confidants into the cabinet. The newspaper mentions three names.

Apparently Potjaman, Thaksin's ex-wife, has kept her power. Two candidates were personally selected by her.

The newspaper attaches great importance to the departure of the Minister of Commerce and Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi as Deputy Prime Minister. The first is responsible for the controversial rice mortgage system, the other for the water management projects worth 350 billion baht. By humping them, the pressure on Yingluck decreases to a certain extent, the newspaper analyzes.

Pheu Thai MP Prakan Worachai Hema is dissatisfied with the fact that red shirt leader Jatuporn Prompan has been passed over again. “If the party thinks this is a good decision, then go ahead. But I warn the party that the warriors will distance themselves from the party.' Prakan also criticizes the demotion of Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung and the Defense Minister.

Chalerm, responsible for security policy in the South, moves to the post of Minister of Employment. He vented his frustration yesterday and said he suspected the secretary general of the Southern Border Provinces Administration Center was behind his transfer.

The Yingluck cabinet took office 2 years ago after Pheu Thai's monster victory in the elections. The party won 377 of the 500 seats in the House of Representatives.

Truly the biggest nonsense I've read lately. This article doesn't really surprise me as the Bangkok Post pro-taksin although the paper tries to camouflage this. As taksin has said: I think and the government executes., as well as: my sister is my clone. Unfortunately, this is still reality.

@ Egon I don't know if you have read the source article in Bangkok Post, but it does well justify the conclusion (which is formulated in the headline). To dismiss that as 'utter nonsense' seems to me to be a premature conclusion, unless you have a better insight than Bangkok Post into the political situation in Thailand. But that doesn't seem very likely to me.

Dick; personally I also get the idea that Yingluck is showing her own input, despite Thakin still being in control for the most part.
And thanks for “putting in their place” certain people who have such an antipathy towards Thaksin that you already know in advance what will be written!

Ah, there we have Willem again who does not want to name names. My antipathy to Taksin et al. are certainly not unfounded and the expats who have been following Thai politics for years share my opinion. A family that destroys Thailand does not deserve my sympathy. Willem would do better to exchange thoughts in depth with the being aware and thinking thai instead of. to give cheap comments that are not substantiated at all. Dick: I don't only read BP but also the Nation {recommended as this newspaper is objective} and some thai newspapers wo thai rath. As I wrote it is fairly clear to insiders that BP. has a sympathy for the taksins for certain reasons. Indeed, I believe that sometimes I know certain things better than a reporter from the BP, who always have reasons to cast certain things in a pink light. My circle of acquaintances is very extensive after 25 years and I can count many academics among my friends as well as high-ranking government officials that I got to know through my wife and Thai friends. By the way, I don't mind being tutored, we all write for the same {family} blog .And Willem,s remarks are always good for a good laugh.Continue, please!
