Thai migrant workers from South Korea

Sixty Thais who returned from South Korea on Saturday evening have been housed at the naval base in Sattahip for a 14-day quarantine. They were part of a group of 80 who had been screened. Authorities are still looking for 80 other Thai people who arrived on the same flight but have not been taken to the quarantine center. State Secretary for Public Health Satit says that these persons must report within three days. If they fail to do so, they risk a fine of 200.000 baht and/or a one-year prison sentence.

Other news about the Coronavirus

  • Even if the corona virus does not spread further, global economic growth will halve. Rabobank economists write this in their quarterly report. They expect that economic growth will even disappear completely if the corona virus becomes a pandemic. China will be hit hardest. The economists expect more than 3 percent less growth there and report that growth is lower than they have ever measured.
  • The death toll from the coronavirus in Italy has risen by 133 to 366 in a single day. This 57 percent increase is by far the largest daily increase in deaths since the virus outbreak in Italy about two weeks ago.
