The municipality of Bangkok (BMTA) will impose strict (environmental) requirements on companies that apply to operate bus lines. In this way, the municipality wants to improve the quality of bus transport.

Only buses licensed by the Department of Land Transport may be used. They must not be more than two years old on the day of registration.

There are also environmental requirements, only buses that are electrically propelled or that run on natural gas are allowed. In addition, they must have a GPS tracking system, e-ticket system and WiFi connection and they must be built according to a universal design with low entry and exit points.

Pfffff ... it's about time, because they are now very outdated, polluting vehicles!!

I always think it has something, those old buses. Can they continue to drive and do the new environmental requirements only apply to new companies?
