His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn signed the new constitution for Thailand on Thursday. This 20th constitution should put an end to the ongoing political conflicts in the country. A constitutional commission (CDC) has been working on the constitution for months and the way is now clear for elections to be held in 2018.

The signing was celebrated by an elaborate ceremony attended by members of the royal family, members of the cabinet, members of the Privy Council, diplomats, members of parliament, the presidents of the Supreme Court and senior civil servants.

After the signing, marching music, gongs and trumpets sounded. The armed forces also fired 21 gun salutes. All over the country, temples rang her bells and monks prayed.

Good to know, but… what does the new constitution say that everything can now go on?

I don't know if it's true but I heard that after signing the constitution, the king went to Thammasat University to pay homage to Pridi Phanomyong and stopped at the Democracy Monument on Rachadamnoen (meaning 'Royal Road') on the way means).

Hooray new elections in 2018 and the army that intervenes again in 2021 because we already know who will win the elections and who will disagree 😀
