"It's cold in Thailand!"
It is the talk of the day: the rather sudden drop in temperature, which is particularly noticeable after sunset.
On Sunday evening the cold wave started, a cold wind came up and the wind chill was around 16 degrees here in Pattaya. According to the Thai KNMI it will be cold today and maybe tomorrow. After that the temperature will recover. The cold comes from a high-pressure area over the South China Sea and northern Thailand.
Minimum temperatures in the North and Northeast will be between 6 and 15 degrees today, in the Central Plains and the East between 13 and 18 degrees and in greater Bangkok between 13 and 16 degrees. In the province of Phayao, the temperature can drop to 7 degrees in some places due to rain.
Sathon Vijarnwannaluk, a climate expert at Chulalongkorn University, thinks something unusual is happening over the sea in Antarctica. This causes a stronger cold wave than normal, causing the temperature in Asia to drop considerably. The cold weather will not last long, he reassures the population.

For Dutch standards a warm summer day ... great!!
Sunny today in ChaAm, but it still feels chilly due to the strong wind. Hopefully better tomorrow.

Living in a village near the city of Pasang ( 45 km south of Chiangmai ) Lamphun province .

Monday afternoon the construction workers left for home around noon , it was too cold to work .
Today Tuesday morning at 09.00 a.m. around 11 degrees, in the house around 15 degrees.
Rain all day and not even seen the sun for the past two days.
Many in our village burn wood in an earthenware stove.
It is cold here , the coldest days ever experienced in this area .
I am very happy with the rain as not a drop of water has fallen here in two months.
Jan Beute.
It was a relief during my morning run of 8 kilometers. It seemed as if I was walking in the Netherlands, wonderful and I think it can stay that way for a while.
i told my wife just yesterday in 2020 there will be snow in thailand
In the Netherlands it was 13 degrees last Saturday and then we say delicious and there it is 16 degrees and cold hahaha
Here in Chiangdao the maximum temperature was 11 degrees. I don't know what it was like at night. Too cold to go outside. It rained here all night and day a lot. So that the humidity was 100%. This made it feel very cold. Now it is dry but there is still a thick cloud cover. And now [Wednesday] at 7.30 it is 12 degrees. I am very happy with the rain.
Here in Pichiht 14 degrees for the third day last night there was a lot of rain
In the village of Sanum, just north of Chiang Mai, it did not get warmer than 11 degrees on Tuesday. The house we rent has no windows, only shutters. So close the shutters, turn on the light and get through the day with a duvet. Today Thursday it is 16 degrees, it will take a while before the temperature is back to normal for here.
11am and a pleasant 22 degrees in Bangkok.
It seems to be returning to normal temperatures for this time of year.
