The Thai meteorological service says that today or tomorrow in Bangkok may be the hottest day of the year. Other parts of the country will become less hot because there may be rain and summer storms.

According to director-general Wanchai Sak-udomchai, Bangkok and Pathumthani in particular will remain very hot in the coming days with temperatures that can exceed 40 degrees.

It is also extremely hot in the northern provinces of Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai and Lampang where the temperature can reach 43 degrees Celsius, a record for this year.

Delicious right? No double glazing, no CV and no Thialf' brand sweaters.

I have lived in Isaan for 15 years; the highest temperature here once was 47 degrees. Trust me, that's not hot, it's hot. I then crawl into bed, mind at zero, fan on and I fall into a comatose siesta and feel deeply happy…

I love the climate this year.
Haven't experienced any extremely hot days yet, already seen a few heavy rain showers.
And the hottest (too hot) and often dry month, April, is almost over.

Is not it nice. Can't get hot enough, I say. Yesterday in the north of Hamburg; smooth streets and highways. Several highways closed. Approx. 1500 car accidents (metal damage) and 84 people in hospital with mostly minor injuries. Today +4°C . . wind, rain etc. Then give me rather warm (hot) weather in Thailand.

Dear Erik, the highest temperature in Thailand was just over 44 degrees Celsius in Uttradit. (1960)
You may be confusing wind chill with the temperature to be measured.
Of course you're right, if you're going to take a nap, because when it's really hot, there's not much else you can do.
Then grab a beer and keep your spirits up.
    Greetings Dirk

A season that one has to “sit out” just like in the Netherlands. And just like there, people are best off indoors with a heater or air conditioner. Even Thais who live here in the Netherlands and have recently visited the country say "it is hardly bearable"
