The first hundred NGV buses, powered by natural gas, will start driving in Bangkok today. The Bangkok public transport company (BMTA) has purchased 489 of these buses, but they could run for more than a year due to a conflict with the importer.

Ultimately, the buses will be used on 25 routes in the capital and surrounding municipalities.

The buses have sixty seats and are more economical and cleaner to use. They are state-of-the-art, including camera security and Wi-Fi. In addition, they are also easily accessible for the elderly and wheelchair users, for whom two places have been reserved. The buses have a system that allows them to lower on one side to level with the sidewalk and a fold-out ramp for wheelchair users.

    Hmm,

Can drop to the same level of the sidewalk, mmmm, the bus never stops at the sidewalk, always at least half a meter from it or on the second lane, because there are Taxis in front of the bus stop.
But I'm glad they're finally running. Those old stink cans, also known as petroleum gasifiers, must disappear from the streets as soon as possible.

Can you picture it: a wheelchair user who managed to get onto a sidewalk.

These seem to me to be 12 meter buses : 60 seats seems impossible to me, 40 seats at the most.
12 meter buses usually have a maximum capacity of 90 passengers. In Thailand, 100 passengers seems possible.

I would like to know how they solved the customs problem. The importer had indicated at the time of import that the buses had been produced in Malaysia. However, Customs had determined that production had taken place in China, resulting in much higher import taxes.
