Dutch man in Sattahip arrested for drug trafficking

The local Thai newspaper 'Pattaya Daily News' reports that a Dutch-Thai male couple has been arrested for trafficking the hard drug crystal meth.
Crystal Meth (Methamphetamine) is a drug that belongs to the same category as cocaine and other strong acting drugs. It has all kinds of nicknames - meth, ice, glass or speed being the most common. This drug is very addictive and is available in Thailand under the name Yaba. The drug provides energy and euphoria and is used, among other things, to suppress the feeling of sleep and hunger.
The police raided the apartment of the Dutch suspect earlier this week. They found a 0,50 gram bag of crystal meth there. The Dutch man claimed that he only used the drug as an aid to having sexual intercourse with his boyfriend.
The reason for the raid was an earlier arrest of a 33-year-old suspect. This man had drugs in his possession and claimed that he had bought them from the Dutchman and his Thai friend.
The two suspects have been remanded in custody and will be charged with drug possession under Thai law.
Half a gram? This fat catch will cause irreparable damage to the Thai and Burmese drug syndicates. A blow that the drug lords will undoubtedly never recover. And the police officers? They are, as we speak, getting ready for the journey to a temple 20 km away. In stretched trot.
With a wink to another posting, it's sad when you see the photo and read the article, but you keep wondering: why are the Dutch so stupid, and not only that: why do they also act so stupid?
