Cabinet agrees to construction of HSL airport

The cabinet in Thailand has approved the draft contract for the construction of the high-speed rail link (HSL) between Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi and U-Tapao airports.
The line is being built to boost the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and will cost 149,65 billion baht.
The project is being implemented by a consortium led by the CP Group. The Charoen Pokphand Group is a Thai conglomerate based in Bangkok. It is Thailand's largest private company and one of the world's largest conglomerates. The group is active in the agribusiness, food, retail, distribution and telecommunications industries. operating in more than 30 countries and more than 300.000 employees.
