The Thai TV channels and other media such as the Bangkok Post, both yesterday and today, pay a lot of attention to the terror attacks in Brussels that killed 34 people and injured more than 200.

There were two explosions at a departure hall at the Brussels airport on Tuesday morning around 8.00 a.m. At least fourteen people were killed in suicide attacks and 106 people were injured, including a Dutchman.

Shortly after the suicide attack on Zaventem, a bomb went off in a metro train between Kunst-Wei and Maalbeek stations, in the center of the Belgian capital. According to the mayor, twenty people died and 130 people were injured.

A third bomb should have gone off at the airport. An unexploded bomb belt has been found, which has now been rendered harmless by security services. Possibly that of a third terrorist who is on the run

The Thai embassy in Brussels says it has not received any reports of dead or injured Thais. The embassy has advised Thais living in Brussels to stay indoors and Thais living elsewhere to avoid the capital. Two hotlines are open for emergencies.

Thai Airways International (THAI) flight TG 934 with 326 passengers landed safely at Zaventem at 7.00:935, an hour before the explosions. But flight TG13.10 with a departure time of XNUMX yesterday was delayed. A Thai flight attendant, working for a Middle Eastern airline, passed through the security checkpoint with the crew a few minutes before the explosion.

According to the Flemish media, nothing is yet known about the nationality of the victims. Given the circumstances, which I can deduce from the images I have seen in the media, that is very understandable. I personally fear that the identification of victims could be difficult. I wish the teams involved a lot of strength and courage to bring this inhuman work to a successful conclusion.

I also express my condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish the speedy and complete recovery of those injured.

I myself am very shocked by these events. But it will be unimaginable to me how those people who experienced that on the spot feel. I believe that is indescribable. I very much hope that these people will also receive the necessary support and help to cope with all this.

It's really bad what happened there, and I don't think anyone can empathize with these events if they weren't involved themselves. We also wish all the best to everyone involved.

PS. The Belgian embassy had released a condolence register

The terror madness will continue for a while. The Netherlands may also be a target and the next in line of countries. The fate that strikes is harsh and again more than 30 families who suffer directly. I wish them strength in coping with this umpteenth incident.

You find disturbed people all over the world. This specific group of Belgians, or criminals who have been in Belgium for some time, is very frustrated and that is the basis of the evil. The suicides feel excluded and inferior and think that killing others is a dignified end for them. How stupid can you be. They are more likely to burn in hell if it exists. It now appears that the suicide bombers are relatives of the Paris attackers. An extra dimension is now added in the form of a kind of revenge. The important thing is to track down and concentrate on as many of the related family, acquaintances and friends of those criminals as possible by conducting house searches, tapping telephones, observing and arresting and detaining those who also exhibit criminal behavior for as long as possible. so that they can no longer cause harm.
In addition, in Belgium, but I could also name a lot of other places, investments will have to be made in the problem groups. Know as much as possible why it has come to this and can come to this and try to prevent this with the right use of resources. People will have to live with each other and these groups are simply part of that.

As far as action in Iraq, Syria and soon also Libya is concerned, in the fight against IS, there is only one remedy for me and that is to form an army together with all right-thinking countries and eliminate those insane (IS fanatics) there. It is no longer possible to do business with this group. Weak healers make stinking wounds. Enough innocent people have been killed and this has to stop now because otherwise we will continue to see many more messages like this.

Very important information about the situation of Brussels Airport:

In the Radio2 (Flanders) program “De Inspecteur” the presenter had a conversation with a spokesperson for Brussels Airport. In it, the spokesperson explained the state of the airport and what still needs to be done there before the airport can become operational again.

You can listen to this conversation yourself during the course of today (Thursday 24 March) on the Radio2 website: http://www.radio2.be. Then click on “Programs” and “The Inspector”. The program lasts 1 hour (from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM) and the interview was between 35 and 45 minutes after the start of the program.

The program was almost entirely devoted to the consequences of the attacks and contains a lot of useful information for the passengers, such as reimbursements / refunds of rented cars and hotels…
