Young, slim, heavy make-up, a miniskirt and sexy moves. Those are the main characteristics of a so-called Coyote dancer.

Amy is ready to perform at a small nightclub behind Srinakarin Road in Bangkok. She likes to dance, but if a customer approaches her for sex, she immediately walks away.

Erotic dance moves

It's Friday evening, there are hardly any visitors. A few men drink beer at the bar. 21-year-old Amy starts her job: sexy dancing and entertaining. She comes on stage with a few other girls and starts dancing rhythmically. Her dance moves are especially erotic. Thai Coyote dancers entertain the mainly male guests of a bar or nightclub with sexy dance moves.

The nightclub manager selects the girls based on their appearance. They must have the right feminine shape and not be too thick. Dancing is taught if necessary. The manager says that a Coyote dancer can earn a lot of money. The base salary is 8.000 baht. An additional 300 baht per three rounds of dancing is added. When a customer orders a drink for a dancer, she receives 100 baht per drink. There are also gratuities. A good coyote dancer like Amy earns about 30.000 baht a month.

Arm

“With that money I can support my mother, grandmother, sister and myself. Dancing pays well; especially for a poor girl like me.”

Amy is still a student and previously worked in a fast food restaurant, but stopped because of the long hours and low pay. Although Amy loves to dance, this is not her dream job. “I only work here to pay for my studies and support my family.”

Once back in the dressing room, sweaty, she looks tired and less 'glamorous' than on stage. “I hate sitting at the table with customers. They always try to get us drunk,' she sighs.

Sex

Sometimes she feels dizzy from the many drinks. “I then walk to the toilet and stick my finger down my throat.” She is regularly harassed by visitors to the nightclub. “They grab me and want to pay me for sex,” Amy says. “I will not go into that. I earn enough to get by. I am saving to open a restaurant after college. But that's still a long way off. In the meantime I dance here every night to earn money.”

As long as you don't forget to mention that the boss would like them to go with the customer 3 - 5 times a month. That customer then pays a 1000 baht fee for use at the bar and lo and behold, the wages have suddenly already been paid back by the male visitor. If she does not meet her quota, it will simply be deducted from her salary. I have lived in Thailand – Bangkok for many years and I know this malpractice all too well. Outrageous sir. Whatever you may think about it

Yes, Coyotes' "not a prostitute" should be taken with a grain of salt. They are indeed not there for the quick work, but they often have regular (Thai) customers. The G-clubs and Coyote clubs are a bit more upscale, though. Sometimes come with Thai, don't like it myself.

Incidentally, the border between being a prostitute or not is very vague in Thailand. Be it GF, gigs. mia noi's, bargirls, coyotes, college girls and sometimes even office girls: often it comes down to the fact that physical services provided are in direct proportion to financial services provided.

About that vague boundary between being a prostitute or not in Thailand – I wonder if it's that much different in our Western world. Would, for example, those beautiful wives of high-earning professional football players, etc., also have been interested in the man if he had still been an ordinary carpenter and could not have waved a large bank account and accompanying credit card? The answer to that question will probably be affirmative in some cases, but I think that in many cases money plays a decisive role…………………

Typical Thai reasoning, dance to study and then hopefully open a restaurant. Do I have to laugh with it!!
    Greetings,

    I can't say more than…. i respect her…

do you know what she means to the family????

many people think of their own and she sacrifices her own for her family!!!

I want to see a Belgian or a Dutch do it for the whole family!!!

    I'm laughing right now….
