It is not always doom and gloom, official occasions and other serious matters, where our Dutch ambassador, Mr. Karel Hartogh, will have to deal with. He also experiences fun things, such as the Flosserinas. A few days ago, Karel Hartogh wrote the following on his Facebook page:

On August 13, the sisters Matchima, Sàmanja and Annakha Flos from Culemborg, children of a Dutch father (Stefan Flos) and a Thai mother (Ruankaew), performed in Bangkok.

They dream of becoming a ballerina. They are now following a course at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam and a dance course at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. They received attention in the TV programs of Katja Schuurman and Eva Jinek.

Unfortunately, due to the bombing in Hua Hin, I was unable to attend their performance. So I invited the girls and their parents to see the embassy and residence.

Support the girls if necessary www.flosserinas.nl because public funding is very limited. And follow them on FB: www.facebook.com/flosserinas"

I have looked at the Flosserina's website and Facebook page and found it touching to read and see how the young ladies, supported by their parents, are serious about their desire to become a ballerina.

Although they mainly ask for financial support for their ballet training on the website, there is also attention for others who need support. During their visit to their grandparents in Thailand, they performed in a retirement home and raised almost 50.000 Baht for a local charity project.

I'm echoing the ambassador, who also seems to have quite a talent for ballet: check out the website of the Flosserinas with fun videos and how you can possibly support them and follow them on Facebook!
