Els regularly stays on Koh Phangan. Her son Robin has opened a coffee cafe on the island.

It's raining that it's pouring.
Will the rainy season begin in earnest?
So far it has been very mild for us.
Rain at night and mostly dry during the day.

Slowly I get up, my hips are a bit stiff and my muscles ache.
Ooh gottegot, I won't grow old will I?

Ah, I already know what it is I; Saturday I danced quite enthusiastically.
That's what I love to do.

What a blessing to be here on the island, where there are more parties than days in the week.
Too bad I'm always in bed before the party gets started.
It's just a challenge to get there.
I speak to myself, forward with the goat.
Do not complain.

Hoppa, in the taxi on the way to Holly Stone,
i've been there a few times.
There is good music, ice cold beer and a dance floor where you can dance barefoot in the sand.
Top conditions.

Still a bit awkward when I arrive.
There used to be the Kuuk and I didn't have to go alone.
Now everything is different and I have to look after myself.
Of course I will inform the kids.
Afterwards, Robin, who was not on the island, turned out to be a bit worried.
Haha, they even know how it feels.

The music drags me along and suddenly I'm dancing with a tall dark boy
who moves so incredibly beautifully, we immediately have a dance click.
The fun spills out.

Turns out to be a Somali, grew up in Norway and on vacation in Thailand.
We dance and dance and dance!
Look, that's what I'm after, that's beneficial for body and mind.

After an hour I have to go outside to catch my breath with a water, (yes, I don't get any smarter)
There I talk to an older shaman from Peru, who does healings on the island.
A Thai motorcycle taxi man asks if I've had enough, he wants to take me home.

Well I'm going to dance for a while, I'll heal the best of that and I'm not going home yet.

After dancing the stars in the sky for a few hours, my dance buddy goes home.
He has to get up early because he will detox next week.
The youth of today anyway.

It's been nice for me too.
I walk to the taxis and wait for more people to arrive.
With a beautiful Senegalese who grew up in France and a cheerful German, I share a taxi and I am brought home safely.

It was a beautiful evening, which I like to think back on with some muscle pain.

Nice story of a woman who doesn't give up: life goes on and we have to try to make the best of it!

Apparently a lot of international company too. I don't have to go far for that: once outside or in the city I look like a tourist...

Anyway: enjoy! Let go, but keep yourself and your belongings under control! Keep your guard up!

    Regards,

    Daniel M.

    Hi Els,

It's nice to read that despite your grief you are still picking up life.
Great dancing with nice fun people!

I wish you many years of dancing pleasure.

    Regards Any.
