Dear readers,

My Thai girlfriend wants to learn to speak Dutch. Not for integration, but just out of interest. Are there Thai - Dutch textbooks available to learn the basic sentences?

Regards,

Franc

there are books by LJM van Moergestel dutch thais. I have learned a lot with his books, but most extensive translations are available in English.

You can then translate it into Dutch for your girlfriend.

    good luck

Took Thai lessons there for 6 years? Vice versa could be just as good. It concerns the day-to-day conversation and enough vocabulary to draw your plan!
Thanks to khroe oua and Guido Goossens.

I do not think so. There is an NL-Thai Thai-NL dictionary. The learning materials of many books for learning Dutch as a second language are completely Dutch, but you will need guidance. If your girlfriend knows a little English and can read and write at least the ABC, it will make a big difference. Also through. dexterity with the internet such as google translate, You-tube there is a lot to learn.
Where does your girlfriend live? I live a bit outside of Chiang Mai, maybe I can help her a bit? I also speak and read Thai, she can contact me through. Messenger.

I have a book in front of me by Ronald Schutte (translator): The Thai language, grammar, spelling and pronunciation.
A difficult book for me, but might be helpful for someone else.
    ISBN 798-0-415-5 1033-2 ook 798-0-415-5 1034-9 of 798-1-315-87105-9.

There is little TH-NL or NL-TH material. I would also use general study and teaching materials that are not specifically aimed at Thai people. The materials of Ad Appel, for example. See
    - https://adappel.nl/lesmateriaal

It often comes down to repeating vocabulary, short sentences, a bit of grammar and expanding from there. So you can - provided you have guidance - fine without specific Thai-Dutch material. Specifically for the Thai there is the following, although my partner and I used materials from Ad 90% of the time and the following sporadically as extra support. But everyone is different so don't get stuck on 1 book. And of course you can find separate teaching materials on YouTube, Facebook etc as extra support or practice.

    Thai-Dutch material

    – Dutch for Thai
    ISBN: 9789080228740
    Laai Seu Thai

    – the books of Vertaalbureau Suwannaphome (Almere)

There are a few more materials available but I don't know them:
    - https://www.4thai.nl/dienstverlening/nederlands-leren-en-inburgering.html

    Dictionaries:
    – Moergestel's Thai-Dutch Dictionary & Dutch-Thai Dictionary
    ISBN 9072702034 & 9789072702043
    http://members.upc.nl/l.moergestel/nangsue/index.html

    – Dictionary Dutch-Thai / Thai – Dutch.
    ISBN 9789080228733
    Laai Seu Thai

    – online dictionary Pluk (NL-TH)
    https://www.pluk-in.com/thai/

    – online dictionary Thai-language (English-Thai)

Conversely, the flush is completely thin, for example, the LOI and NHA have books. The example pages of this point me to English phonetics and that is already a big flaw in my eyes. To learn Thai I use the English books by Benjawan Poomsan Becker. For Dutch phonetics etc. Ronald Schütte his work.

Maybe it's an idea to give this a try.
