Home » Reader question » Reader question: Who knows an economical way to send a package to Bangkok?
Dear readers,
I am looking for a carrier who can send me a package of 95-50-10 cm and a weight of 20 kg from the Netherlands to Bangkok at a reasonable price.
I emailed around a bit and came to an amount of around 500 euros. Are there people who might know a better and cheaper solution?
Thanks in advance,
Gerard
Never thought that there is still the PTT / Post?
Postnl: 105,30 for max 20 kg and 100x50x50
See for yourself whether there is another cheaper option: what used to be called sea mail is no longer, but a kind of standby by airplane, so time cannot be foreseen - usually within 2 weeks
Hi Gerard,
Via TNT Post you can send a package with a maximum size of 100 x 50 x 50 cm and a maximum of 20 kilos for € 106,95 (registered, insured up to 500 euros). The insured amount can be increased for an additional payment.
Gerard,
Which carriers did you approach?
Niek
Hello Nick
i had oa. Had contact with dhl
regards gerard
DHL, UPC, etc. are the most expensive options for transport.
If it can be done by Post, all other options are too expensive.
The best thing would be if someone who sends a container to Bangkok allows your package in their container. However, CAN cause a lot of additional clearance and handling issues.
Therefore: no one can beat that TNT rate.
Months ago I asked in every possible way what it would cost me to ship a racing bike to Thailand. I came to the conclusion that I probably should buy the plane. Better buy a new one here in Thailand. It is better to give away for other things such as trousseau. Via kapaza or marketplace, hardly anyone is interested unless it is a foreigner with a ridiculously low offer.
Bringing a bike costs nothing
Have already brought several
Just as luggage up to 30 kilos
Free
No problem at all
A good bicycle bag or suitcase will keep everything intact
Do you want. You can always email me for more information
Contacting Thai in Brussels, say one by one is Thai.
Hi Gerard
I think you not only have to pay the transport costs, but you also have to pay import duties.
You are going to import something and you can then just pay.
I recently ordered a module from a generator.
The weight was less than a kilo.
And at the post I simply had to pay 1500 bath extra for the import tax.
I think it's best that someone takes it by plane.
Because then you don't have import tax and faster.
I myself have now bought a cappuccino machine in NL, and I also want to take it to Thailand, but this one is
60 kilos.
And I'm also looking for a cheap solution myself.
Maybe an idea if we bring a container to Thailand with 10 people (or more).
Then everyone has 3 m2 for +|- 200 €.
That is of course dirt cheap, it takes about 6 weeks.
So people let me know if there is any interest.
Greetings Rob
And great idea to fill a container together.
However, the disasters are incalculable because first of all everyone must have at least 1M3. The costs of transporting the container are very clear. However, the customs clearance (customer declare) is very different for everyone and how are you going to arrange that.
For a package of 20 kg, the best solution is PostNL.
DHL also has special rates for 30 kg and more.
If you live near the border, go to a DHL depot there and ship from there. It is quite attractive.
Look up http://www.shippingcenter.nl. Here I came with your data around 49 euros ex VAT.
Try through http://www.collibox.com I hear a lot of good things about that these days.
you fill in everything and you see in 1x what it costs at all those transport farmers ...
Just buy that stuff in Thailand
Everything is for sale in good shopping centers or via the internet
Always free shipping above 50 euros
This just seems cheaper to me than sending, of course I don't know what you want to send
Succes
Check out these 2 websites.
http://shippingcenter.nl/
http://dhlforyou.nl with this cabinet 10 kg € 32.- so if you can store it in two boxes it saves money. see FAQ.
http://www.parcel.nl
does it for 48 euros picked up in the Netherlands and delivered to your home in Thailand, takes 12 days.
Import duties 30%, have already done this 2 times without problems.
