Dear readers,

Do they also have employment agencies in Thailand as we know them? Would there be more advantages than disadvantages for entrepreneurs to hire flex workers through an employment agency?

Greetings,

Heidi

As far as I know, employment agencies in Thailand do not exist in the form we know them. The salaries are at a completely different level than in the Netherlands. If a employment agency also has to earn money from this, it seems to me that people will not have much left over. Moreover, the work culture in Thailand cannot be compared to the Netherlands or other European countries. Think of a 6 day working week, long working days and only a few days of vacation per year.

I've seen manpower in Jomtien. I don't know what the working conditions are like.

These do exist in Thailand, my girlfriend works through Manpower at Pepsico in Ayutthaya, they even have an inside branch there, but the salaries are the same as the other salaries, although Pepsico will pay a higher amount to Manpower, but that is in the Netherlands as well.

She also just works 12 hours a day and then gets 6 vacation days a year that you can't even take in 1 time, in short, shameful and that for an American parent company.

Fortunately for her, she will take the exam in October and will then come to the Netherlands, where you always get the minimum salary with 40 hours a week.

But there are many more employment agencies with Thai names (subcontractors)

    Regards Rob

Through Manpower on BangNa Trad (BKK) I hired 8 people. Manpower had performed an initial selection of 20 candidates very well. The 8 people I took out of those 20 have all become permanent employees and are still giving birth after 8 years! 2 ladies have now left due to family expansion, but then someone always knows someone and you have a new employee in no time. We pay a little more and give a little more days off and I'm not too fussy about some things. That's why they like to stay! We have built a nice team.
