Home » Reader question » Reader question: Can you withdraw money in the Netherlands with a Thai ATM card?
Dear readers,
I have a simple question, can you withdraw money with your Thai ATM card in the Netherlands and up to what amounts?
Regards,
Other
I was able to do that 3 years ago. In Belgium, limits may depend on the local ATM and depending on which Thai bank or ATM machine. Check with your Thai bank, or also adjust your limit amount (Thai Bank here may be quite high, don't know for abroad), best to ask.
And just to be on the safe side, open your Thai mobile phone number for roaming to have complete control over your online banking Thailand if necessary, for example to credit your mobile phone with call credit
I can answer your question yes. Go to your bank that issued your card and ask if they want to activate your card for Europe. Also agree on the amount you want to withdraw. In the Netherlands you can withdraw money from RaboBank. Check on the back of your card whether it says PLUS, and you can withdraw at the ATMs that have the PLUS logo. Good luck.
Regards Pascal Chiangmai
with my pass from the siam comercial bank this goes without any problems. I was even able to increase the day limit to 200.000 TBath.
At the Siam Commercial Bank the standard daily limit is 20.000 Bhat which you can increase, personally I think 100.000 Bhat is enough. Online payments can also be made (all over the world)
Debit cards in (local currency) the Netherlands, Malaysia and Hong Kong also went well.
All in all, I am very satisfied with the Siam Commercial Bank.
Greetings Nico
True with siam comercial you can withdraw money anywhere in the Netherlands if there is master card on your bank card.
Do inquire at Siam how much you can withdraw in the Netherlands
I think this is a funny question.
I have an account with the BKK bank. (Opened 2 years ago. No internet account by the way, that was not possible, so I can't see in the Netherlands what the effect of a debit card payment is.)
When I opened the account, I was told (I think, because the lady spoke less English than I did Thai) that I could only withdraw money free of charge at BKK bank ATMs. Other ATMs would charge a few baht.
Since then I have only withdrawn from a BKK ATM. There was always one nearby.
I've never tried pins in Thailand. Never even thought about it. I'll do next time.
There is now something of 700 THB on it.
So I could pay for a croissant at the LIDL tomorrow?
I would like to try it, but I'm afraid it would be a very expensive breakfast.
It is indeed possible to withdraw money with a Thai ATM in Holland. But recently the tax authorities keep track of who withdraws money with foreign accounts. So……….
Last year I withdrew money from the ATM in the Netherlands with my Kasikorn card.
I don't know a limit but 400 euros was no problem
