Thailand question: Departure times train and bring my bike?

Dear readers,

I'm going cycling in Thailand and want to cycle north from Bangkok and back to Bangkok by train from Chiangmai. On www.seat61.com I came across an overview of the departure times of all trains. It's just not recent, I think. I can't find it on the official website of Thai Railways. I also want to know which trains have a freight car for my bike?

Who can help me?

Regards,

Willem

Almost right Jan, because Willem asked about the departure times from Chiang Mai to Bangkok.

      and William,
On the official website of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) https://www.railway.co.th/Home/Index choose English in the top right and then choose 'Timetable' from the 'TIME TABLES' drop-down menu (you can also choose the version for iOS or Android).
On the page https://www.railway.co.th/Station/StationList you will then be presented with Chiang Mai in the left window and Bangkok (already there) in the right window. (ค้นหา means search.)
      Et Voila.
You could even contact them (via the drop-down menu 'CONTACT US') about whether or not bicycle transport is possible.

    Dear Willem,
the simplest and most up to date information you can get once you are in Chiangmai. You go to train station and ask on the spot. They won't eat you there.
Normally it will not be a problem to take your bike with you. Possible for a small fee.

When you make such a long bike ride, knowing a departure time is of secondary importance: upon arrival you inquire about the next day or night and the bike also goes with long-distance buses: I have already made many trips in Thailand: more or less unplanned! Good luck. The

You can also write to a certain Richard Barrow via Facebook. That person knows everything about trains through Thailand.
