Dear readers,

My smartphone broke and I had to buy a new one. I have downloaded the DigiD app and at the last step I am asked to enter the SMS code. Since I had activated the old app on my Dutch telephone number, the code will be sent to this number.

Now the problem is that I can't receive the code because my SIMYO provider doesn't send SMS messages to countries outside Europe.

Question: does anyone know a solution to this problem, because I already have several messages that I have to respond to.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Regards,

Joshua

The solution is simpler than you think. Simyo just sends SMS, also to Thailand. https://www.simyo.nl/klantenservice/vragen/kan-ik-smsjes-sturen-naar-het-buitenland-103

The link you provided is about sending text messages from NL abroad Peter (editors). Joshua wants to start receiving text messages from the Netherlands in Thailand.

I have an iPhone with an eSIM from Simyo and I can receive text messages from NL in TH.
Put the SIM of your old broken phone in your new phone and then look at the following web page Joshua: https://www.simyo.nl/klantenservice/vragen/ik-ontvang-geen-sms-berichten-87

If your old broken phone had an eSIM you can transfer it to another 'eSIM phone':
      https://forum.simyo.nl/abonnementen-69/esim-overzetten-op-een-nieuwe-telefoon-hoe-werkt-dat-44718

If your old broken phone had an eSIM and the new one didn't, things get a bit more cumbersome: https://forum.simyo.nl/simkaart-en-esim-86/hoe-kan-ik-mijn-esim-omzetten-naar-een-fysieke-simkaart-44419

Don't forget to turn off Roaming, because that costs a lot of money.

It is indeed about sending, because he says that his provider does not send text messages to Thailand and that is not correct.

You can also receive text messages in Thailand with a Simyo card. Has to do with settings: https://forum.simyo.nl/simkaart-en-esim-86/waarom-kan-ik-geen-sms-ontvangen-op-mijn-prepaid-simkaart-in-het-buitenland-35864
