Thailand question: How can I get my health insurance premium back?
Dear readers,
I'm going back to the Netherlands soon for 3 weeks then I will have myself deregistered in the Netherlands. But then you are no longer insured for medical expenses because you live in a non-treaty country.
I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to get the health insurance premium back? Because I don't think you have to wear these anymore, do you?

Wim, you are insured until you unsubscribe. You also inform your health insurer that you are emigrating and then the monthly premium will also stop. But I think you mean the premium that is deducted from your income. That could go on for a while.

It happened to me in 2009.
After 1 month I received it back, without asking, for the ZVW premium that I had paid.
Don't know now, Erik will know, what he wrote down is at home in interesting matters.

When I deregistered 4 years ago, social premiums were no longer deducted immediately, I was surprised how quickly that went.
I stopped the automatic payment with my health insurance with an email why, received an email back that I had to continue paying until they were sure that I had indeed been deregistered.
Told them that they could go crazy, that I didn't feel like trying to get back overpaid premiums from them in a few months. After a month I received another message that they had accepted my deregistration.
