Dear readers,

Has anyone already used VAB's insurance certificate to obtain a COE or to enter Thailand in the current covid circumstances?

What are the experiences?

Regards,

Nick

My experience from 1 year ago is that the VAB does not take out health insurance for Thailand.

I had travel insurance from VAB, including for Thailand. I got it automatically from KBC because I had a fully comprehensive car with them. After 6 months, I think, I had to pay to renew. Didn't cost much...

My brother took one out last month. This was accepted for his COE without any problems. Was with a cover for 1 million euros and for 4 months. Cost less than 100 euros.

A friend was able to travel to Thailand with VAB travel assistance insurance last month, so Coe is fine and no problems entering Bangkok.
I applied for and collected my non-immigrant O visa last week. The insurance certificate is good, but there must be the following message next to the amount of € 1 million: (inpatient and outpatient). The lady at the Thai embassy told me that this is necessary to obtain the Coe. So ask VAB to DEFINITELY mention this!!

Agreed, but the travel certificate must be correct in terms of text for the embassy and the standard text of VAB must be supplemented with “inpatient and outpatient”.
