Dear readers,

At which institution in Thailand can I inquire whether someone has a Thai bank account?

Regards,

Willy

My guess is that no bank will tell you if a particular person or agency has a bank account with them. Has something to do with privacy. They will only do so if they are forced to do so (government, court).

    Dear Willy,

Only the legislature can request such information. And even then there must be a valid reason.

Willy, why don't you ask the person himself?

Willy, at the Kasikorn bank I can transfer money to a person if his phone number is linked to his bank account.
I don't know if this is also possible at other banks, but it seems logical to me that if 1 bank here does the same, the other banks will not be left behind.
So, make a transfer to the phone number (if you have one) in your banking app and see if it's accepted

    Dear Willy,

I can only guess why you ask that.
Maybe you could be a little clearer.
Do you want to transfer money or do you want to receive money.
And why not ask the person himself.
If that is not possible, then this could only be enforced at one bank through a court. But for several banks you need several rulings because a general request is not possible for the whole of Thailand due to the location and jurisdiction of the court.

    Greetings Janderk
