Dear readers,

It has been a few years since I emigrated to Thailand from the Netherlands. I then took my few possessions with me. Now, at almost 80, I want to ship specific items back to the Netherlands. They are books, CDs, DVDs, videos and the monopoly game from around 1960 with all original attributes. In total about 10 boxes weight 80 kilos. Now I'm looking for a carrier (forwarder) but can't find it on the internet either.

I tried DHL, UPS, etc. but they only want to take them in their own boxes, but how do I get those boxes? I don't get an answer to that by phone either.

Who has advice?

Regards,

Bob

Bob, is just by Thai Post an option? I did it like this, sea mail (surface post) and everything arrived neatly in NL after a few months. You can send, I believe, up to 20 kilos per box. Why don't you go check there?

      Hi Erik,
Some boxes heavier than 20kg. Furthermore, I have little confidence when I see how I sometimes receive packages from the Netherlands. In any case, thanks, but I am looking for an agent/forwarder for LCL shipment.

      Hi Joseph,

I will definitely do that, but the point is: sorry about Thailand

Keep in mind that you have to pay import duties (on your belongings !!)!

    Best ,,
I sent my documents (marriage in Belgium) to the Belgian/Thai embassy in 2020, the weight was only barely 2 kg!!!
I then opted for DHL, I believe I had to pay around €73, which I think was a lot, but two days after shipment everything was delivered correctly for my wedding.
But you are talking about 10 boxes of several kilos.
I advise you to check carefully whether the contents of some boxes are worth the costs??
I also have boxes here with everything in them for my wife, her family and daughter/grandchildren, but what is in them is not worth the price of shipping!!!!
    Good luck and greetings
    Bo

    Hi Bob,
Go to a DHL branch and ask for shipping boxes, these come in various sizes, small to large, and whether you can get them to pack your things in, I did at the time, no problem, just don't remember if I had to pay a fee for this, box packed, forms filled out at DHL with what's inside, plus the value, delivered a few days later from Thailand

    Windmill – The Hague: https://windmillforwarding.com
they also do removals from Thailand to the Netherlands, smaller shipments in groupage containers.

Also contacted Hong Kong Transpack Co., Ltd. – Bangkok.

    I think these 2 companies work(ed) together.
