Home » Reader question » Reader question: Can I buy Dutch licorice anywhere in Thailand?
Dear readers,
I wonder if you can buy the real Dutch liquorice, farm liquorice and other liquorice varieties somewhere in Thailand. I have lived here for 4 years and the only ones I have eaten are from someone who brings them from the Netherlands but I would like to buy them myself.
I live in Chiang Mai, but maybe it can also be ordered by post if it is sold elsewhere in Thailand. I did find an address that you can have them sent by post from the Netherlands, but that is comparable to the gold price.
Who can help me?
Regards,
Stephan
All supermarkets of “Villa Market” sell licorice.
I regularly buy licorice in Bangkok at the Vilamarket in Sukumvit.
They have licorice there that comes from Sweden, kittens, cokintjes taste is not disappointing to me.
They also have the real English licorice there.
I also always take chicory and sprouts with me, very tasty if you like them at least.
I also regularly visit Vila Market in Silom, but I can only find Haribo there, and I don't think that's licorice.
sometimes here at Tuckom in Pattaya
Unfortunately no Vilamarket or Tuckom here.
Maybe just as well.
When I could still buy licorice, the bag was always empty in no time.
Definitely not good for the weight.
I will be there again on 15-10-2015 for half a year cha-am.can bring and send from cha-m??
I will hear it
For the Dutch, liquorice is salty liquorice and not sweet liquorice.
Absolutely impossible to get in Thailand.
Cor,
Cat licorice is also quite tasty.
However, the Klene licorice coins and kokindjes are (were) my favorite.
I found the Venco licorice inedible.
Hi Stephen,
Farm licorice, salmiak, licorice powder or black and white when I cough my lungs out of my body.
So I would also like to know. (just wipe my mouth 🙂
LOUISE
Stephan,
Forget to say that Foodland has lace licorice and another kind, but it's not really salty licorice.
And sometimes at the 24 hour super they have cat drop, but it is not salty either.
we do have a Villa and Tecom here, so I'll have a look right away.

In Bangkok there are many specialty shops with Dutch products.
But be careful that you enter a shop where there is a good flow of articles.
Similarly, in Sukhumvit, 50 meters from the corner of soi 4, there is a large store with many Dutch products.
Most of it is usually always fresh.
You will therefore regularly meet other Dutch people.
