Fly back with THAI Airways from Bangkok to Brussels
Dear readers,
I have a question about flying back with THAI Airways from Bangkok to Brussels. We have a Dutch passport and live in the Netherlands. We are fully vaccinated. Is a negative PCR test required at Bangkok airport?
I read that KLM does not ask for a PCR test for fully vaccinated people before the flight Bangkok Amsterdam.
Anyone experience this?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Wilfred

I do not think so. You are therefore EU citizens and come from a red zone outside the EU. However, it is not 100% clear to me.
If you want to be sure I would ask Thai if they ask for a PCR test.

We flew to Brussels via Thai last Friday (19/11).
They did request the PCR test (<72 h.) before being allowed on the plane.
willfred,
I agree with the first commenter. EU rule says: PCR test not necessary to enter EU country... BUT that will be bad for you, as we say in the Netherlands. You ask about reality. Apparently it is different, at least at Thai airways. See second answer. Apparently Thai Airways believes that they can impose additional requirements for their own flights. That's right, they can.
Covid test within 48 hours before departure can be done. I was at Subarnabumi airport today. Right after the exit
on level 1, i.e. level where taxis are located, exit number 3, a small facility has been set up by Samitivej hospital. You can have a rapid test and regular PCR covid test done. The rapid test costs you 550 Baht and requires a half-hour wait. The official PCR test costs 3500Baht and is available after 6 hours. You won't find the latter done almost anywhere else in Bangkok.
RT-PCR test is needed.
I flew from Phuket to Brussels with Emirates 2 days ago. They respect the rules of the country you are flying to, so no PCR test is necessary. They only checked the corona certificates. This was also very clearly specified in their rules. I think it is best to check or inquire with Thai airways
KLM follows the guidelines of the Dutch government, PCR test is therefore no longer necessary for the flight Bangkok-Amsterdam. For Brussels I would look at the website of the Belgian Government, which may make it mandatory, unfortunately it is not the same for every EU country.
Hello, I asked that question to Thai Airways international November 21st and they answered me
Dear passenger,
TG does NOT Require the PCR TEST at check-in if there is no requirement by the government !
At this MOMENT, Belgium does not ask for a PCR TEST if you live in Belgium.
https://thailand.diplomatie.Belgium.be/en
I also had that question
At the end of Jan I fly back BKK BRU with Thai
I called 1700 of the Flemish government and they said they did not need a PCR test
when you are fully vaccinated
If I understand the info correctly, you shouldn't have it as a resident either. You must then have yourself tested upon arrival.

I live in belgium
Are you from a red zone outside the European Union or Schengen zone?
Don't have a vaccination certificate?
You must be quarantined for 10 days. Get tested on days 1 and 7 after you get home from your trip. The quarantine can be shortened if the 2nd test on day 7 is negative.
The question remains whether Thailand should remain a red zone for a long time?
