Dear readers,

Due to sad circumstances I am temporarily staying in the Netherlands, and now wish to return to my home in Hat Yai – Thailand as soon as possible. This is possible again from 1 February. But I'm not sure about the right order of action to get the right papers.

Fully vaccinated. I am in possession of proof 2x vaccination Covid-19 in Thailand. 1x vaccination (booster) in the Netherlands (everything on paper and not on a mobile phone! (no internet).

Valid visa and re-entry stamp in Dutch passport.

What is the correct order?

0. Activate proof of vaccination in Thailand Pass
1. Book a ticket Amsterdam – Bangkok (with cancellation insurance?)
2. Book hotels (with cancellation insurance?)
3. Book vaccination (2x).
4. After 1 day in the hotel, continue to Hat Yai (home)
5. day 5 in Thailand to hotel in Hat Yai, vaccination and negative home.

to ask:
a- are you vaccinated/tested the same day of arrival no matter what time you arrive at the hotel? Will you be vaccinated in the hotel or in a hospital? Who possibly arranges the transport from airport-hotel-hospital? (This in connection with the calculation of the 5th day/hotel/vaccination).

b-I don't have access to the internet “on the road”. (Only internet at airports and in my own home.) Do I have to arrange something to be always available? Who tips for this?

c-If you are tested positive, are you obliged to stay in the booked hotel? Cost? Rules during quarantine time in hotel?

Furthermore, all tips / findings from readers of the Thailand blog are welcome.

Regards,

Wim

I don't think booking vaccinations is necessary. After all, you are fully vaccinated…
You should also realize that when applying for the Thailandpass you must submit all proof of booked accommodation plus tests. In your list I also miss the mandatory 50k USD insurance for medical expenses.

It could of course very well be that Wim, according to my interpretation
mainly residing in Thailand, simply have a Thai health insurance policy.
In that case, his situation is similar to mine, albeit in May or June
want to go to the Netherlands for 3 weeks.

Wim, before you apply for a Thailand pass, you must have booked the ticket + insurance + 2 sha++ hotel nights including pcr testing. So only book them where they have good cancellation policies. A cancellation insurance does not always cover it.

Responding to your questions: a) does not have to be on the same day. Depends on hotel and arrival time. The test can be taken in a hotel or hospital. Transport is included in package. Make sure this is clearly stated when booking b) Mor chana app must be activated upon arrival. You will receive a message via this app if you have to pass on the 2nd pcr test report to Mor chana. That is why you need an internet connection every day between day 1 to day 7, not necessarily continuously. c) depends on age and situation on site where you have to quarantine – hospital, hospitel, quarantine hotel or at home. Your extra insurance must cover this, even if you do not feel ill
