Dear readers,

We fly Amsterdam-Bangkok-Krabi in three weeks. If it works, we want to have the suitcases labeled. A few years ago we got a sticker on our clothes and we could stay behind customs.

Does anyone know what the procedure is now, if you have booked a domestic flight afterwards?

Yours faithfully,

Teun

Dear Teun, if you have booked a ticket Amsterdam-Krabi you will be labeled through. If you have booked Amsterdam -Bangkok and then an extra flight Bangkok - Krabi, you must collect your luggage and check in again for your domestic flight. I hope you have some slack and have taken that into account? Also take into account the weight of your suitcase! As an example Emirates from Amsterdam your suitcase may weigh 30 kg, with Air Asia or Bangkok Air think max 20 kg. Check that very carefully before it costs you a lot of money in Bangkok due to being overweight!

Just back from 12 days in Thailand. It was our first introduction to this country and due to recent developments we unfortunately had to cancel Bangkok.
Only been to Koh Samui now.
Amsterdam Bangkok vice versa with KLM consequences. Bangkok Koh Samui with Bangkok Airways On the outward journey, people in Amsterdam did not want to continue labeling. KLM did not want to take responsibility for the luggage to be tagged. Back from Koh Samui to Bankgok, we were immediately labeled to Amsterdam and we received a sticker. Recognizable to customs as transit passengers.

if you do have to go through customs, show your ticket krabi and you get priority, so no waiting time
at customs just like the monks etc.

    success

Please note, because for many domestic flights (including Air Aasia) you have to move from Suvarnabhumi to Don Muang or vice versa. So take into account a minimum transfer time of 3 hours.

There is never a waiting time at customs in BKK. You probably mean immigration/passport control?

Simply have your suitcase labeled to the final destination. You report to the domestic flights. Here you go through passport control. If you fly further with Bangkok air, you can use your own lounge where you can get a snack and a drink for free

Check the internet to see if there is a partnership between the 2 carriers, then relabelling is no problem.
Only Thai Smile( Thai domestic ) and BangkokAir fly from Suvarnabhumi, the rest of Don Muang!
The rest can be guessed and vwb transport between airports etc. see info Thailandblog or google.

    Regards Joy

A month ago I flew from Brussels to Chiang Mai via BKK, both flights with Thai Airways. The luggage was labeled. Visa on arrival in BKK, then to the gate for the flight to CM.

Many thanks for all the responses.

We first fly from Amsterdam with Eva-Airways, then have a waiting time of 3 1/2 hours and then fly from the same airport Suvarnabhumi with Thai-Airways to Krabi.
According to tickets, both Eva-Air and Thai-air allow us to take 7 kg of hand luggage and 20 kg of checked luggage, so that is no problem.

On the way back we only have an hour and a half between flights, so hopefully that will go well.
We will try to have the luggage labeled.
We are looking forward to being able to enjoy wonderful weather, culture and nature again.

Both airlines are part of the Star Alliance and therefore labeling luggage should not be a problem.

Thank you Cornelis for the information, I had not yet found it on the internet.

    Dear Teun,

We are now staying in Thailand and we flew with EVA from Amsterdam to Bangkok on Saturday, January 18, followed immediately by Bangkok Airways to Krabi on Sunday afternoon. Make sure that both flights are in 1 reservation. At Schiphol, the bags are labeled straight away to Krabi. Super convenient. On Bangkok you stay behind Customs and you will be referred to the Domestic side via the information boards. Once there you have a very relaxed Immigration check with no one waiting for you. Great again. There you will also get a sticker stuck on your shirt with the code of Krabi airport, KBV.

    Have fun and good journey,

    Caroline and Rob.

Traveled from Brussels to Koh Samui last month. Book your tickets yourself online. With Jetaiways via Mumbai to Bangkok and then with Bangkok airways to Samui. Tickets were booked separately and according to insiders we would then have to collect our bags in Bangkok and check in again!. Nothing could be further from the truth. Both on the outward journey and on the way back, our luggage was labeled through to the final destination. Talk about service!
