Reader question: Pills against motion sickness, where to buy?
Dear readers,
My daughter is in Thailand and suffers from dizziness, most likely due to motion sickness. She would like to get motion sickness pills because she is going to fly a few more times and with a boat.
How do you explain that you want motion sickness pills, are they even for sale and where?
Regards,
Simone
If you are still sick after traveling, it is probably not motion sickness. Even seasickness disappears like snow in the sun as soon as you have solid ground under your feet again.
A correct diagnosis seems to me to be the first priority.
A nice Thai helped me when I was sea sick on the boat he was one of the crew.
He smeared my temples with menthol oil and I recovered very quickly. Since that unpleasant experience, I always have a small bottle with me when we travel through Thailand. For sale at Boots etc.
Dear Simone,
I have a cheaper tip for you. Instead of pills, you can also plug an ear - near the left ear - with cotton wool.
As a result, the inner ear receives pressure from only one side, so that the fluid in the organ flows more slowly instead of shooting in all directions.
How do I know? People with a hearing aid hardly suffer from motion sickness precisely because they know their ear is sealed.
Success!
Buy fresh ginger and chew a small piece on departure
Can be used while flying, boating and driving

All pharmacies have a remedy for this.
Pronounced "mou lot" in Thai
Freely translated drunk from a means of transport.
I have problems with motion sickness myself. But dizziness is something I don't suffer from. A few years ago I did a test with my physio to see if I had problems with grit in my hearing area. This can cause dizziness and can be removed by the physiotherapist. I now take anti-hysti on the advice of the doctor… something to keep the vomiting center calm. Primatour didn't work for me. I've actually only had motion sickness for a few years now. Once I had my ears closed for a few days after landing due to a cold and now something is out of balance or hypersensitive I think. Tips and advice are welcome.
Join me in 'like snow before the sun' after setting foot on earth. Is she drinking enough? Salt deficiency? … something else is of course also possible, but in case of motion sickness I put my ????
Medication against motion sickness in all pharmacies and also in seven eleven at the checkout, small blue packages. I don't use this, but my wife does, also against vomiting with a hangover.
From my experience, this is also a solution that works for me
and some acquaintances helped: http://www.sea-band.com/nl
When my daughter was on a plane before, she was not allowed to eat at all or everything came out on landing…sometimes nausea during the flight for hours. Even despite using travel pills.
My thai wife told me to do the following: take a travel pill just before the flight and stick a regular “plaster” over her nail belly. (Plaster normal size for e.g. finger wound)
Unlikely… No more problems, no more nausea, can even eat and drink on the flights to Bangkok. (flight with stopovers)
Thai wisdom?? Placebo effect?? It functions!!

I also always get motion sick. Very annoying. I use “seaband” based on accupuncture. They are bands that you put around your wrists. So don't take anything. Does it make you sleepy? And you also want to enjoy traveling. I have traveled a lot and I always wear this. Good luck and happy travel.
Stugeron in the pharmacy is very good and does not make you sleepy.
You can get pills against motion sickness at any supermarket or gas station. I also always take a set with me to the Netherlands. A menthol spray also helps. Have bright colors with white on the outside.
